Bringing Gilded Faults to Life —A Sustainable Fashion Film

Hi, my name is Layla Francis, and I’m a fashion design student at SCAD.

I’ve spent the past year creating my senior collection, Gilded Faults. Every piece was designed and made entirely by me, with a focus on intention: how it’s made, what it’s made from, and how long it’s meant to last.

This kind of work takes a lot more than just making the garments. Creating a collection with minimal environmental impact means spending more time researching, sourcing, and working with natural materials, which are significantly more expensive than synthetics. I’ve covered all of the fabric and material costs myself to bring the collection to this point.

Now I’m working on the final step: producing a fashion film and photoshoot. This is what allows the collection to actually be seen and understood the way it was intended.

How the funds will be used:
• Camera and lighting equipment rentals
• Transportation for shoot days
• Food for the team
• Props and set elements
• Hair, makeup, and styling accessories

As the project has come together, the scale of the production has grown beyond what I originally planned, and I want to make sure I can bring it to life to the fullest extent possible.

Any support, no matter the amount, helps me complete this project. Even sharing this page means a lot.
