Since November of 2025, Lindsey and Kevin have been searching for answers for their beautiful daughter, Gia. Their journey began with a terrifying moment no parent should ever experience - Gia suddenly stopped breathing, and Kevin performed CPR for several minutes until first responders arrived to their home. All of this happened while Lindsey was nine months pregnant with their son, Roman. Thankfully, a few days later, Roman was born healthy but the questions surrounding Gia's health remained. Since then, they've endured countless appointments, tests, and consultations, all in hopes of finding an explanation. Despite every effort, they have yet to receive the answers they've been desperately seeking.
On the evening of June 16th, Lindsey and Kevin knew something wasn't right with their daughter and brought Gia to the emergency room. She has remained in the pediatric ICU ever since and was transferred to UCSF on June 25th, where she is receiving exceptional care from an incredible team of specialists. While they are hopeful that additional testing this week will finally provide answers, there is also the possibility of receiving a diagnosis of an extremely rare condition that could dramatically change the course of Gia's life and their family's future. Right now, they are living one day at a time, holding onto hope while preparing for whatever comes next.
As a family, we've been overwhelmed by the number of people asking how they can help. If you know Lindsey and Kevin, you know they are the first to show up for others and the last to ask for anything themselves. This is not a situation that comes natural to them - being in a situation where they have to ask for help. They have incredible families and friends surrounding them, but this is not something anyone can navigate alone. The financial burden of a prolonged hospitalization and ongoing medical care adds up quickly. Between medical expenses, travel, hotel stays, meals, time away from work, and the many unexpected costs that accompany a medical crisis, we want to help ease as much of that burden as possible so they can focus on what matters most - being by Gia's side.
We will continue to post updates as they come in. We're still in the very early stages of this process and things remain fluid - day by day, hour by hour. Any support, big or small, means the world to them. Thank you for standing with their family during such a difficult time.
