Hello, this GoFundMe was created in the hopes of helping support the cremation services, celebration of life, and financial hardships that the family of Gia renae Leonardi will go through following her passing today, February 6th 2026. Gia is 20 years old and her life has reached it's end following a long and courageous battle with Rett Syndrome. She was diagnosed by her third birthday, from then on it's been a wonderful, terrifying and valiant journey filled with countless trips to doctors/specialists, intensive care units and after numerous surgeries and procedures, Gia's fight has ended. Not because she has given up, she was so very strong every second of her special Life. She loved to laugh and to smile no matter what challenges were constantly thrown upon her. She met them head on, with bravery and endless love. She never had the ability to walk or talk, or even chew food without choking. Yet she still found a way to be full of life with her family, and emit a warm and bright aura all the way until the end. Our family not only has to deal with the immense grief and heartbreak of losing her, but the struggle with financial hardships, selling our home, not knowing where to go now and completely changing our day to day lives.

The income that was received in order to keep Gia home and provide round the clock care will end and we would very much appreciate any help that our friends and family can give. Gia has always been at home and the brightest light of all of our lives. We've loved and cared for her always and hope to find comfort in the thoughts of her finally being at peace and with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She can finally be free and her battered body can rest, while her soul soars in the Heavens. We greatly appreciate any donation and will continue to live on in her image, always and forever.
