My father, Gerald—though most people know him as 'the hammerhead'—was recently diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer, and our world has changed overnight. He has always been the one to help anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. Now, he’s facing the toughest challenge of his life. The cancer has taken away the strength in his left arm, which is especially hard for him as he’s left-handed. He’s unable to work, and my mother has had to stop working as well to care for him full-time.

With both of my parents now unemployed, the financial strain is overwhelming. We’re facing mounting hospital bills, and we also need to rebuild their bathroom to make it safer and more accessible for my father. On top of that, there are daily living expenses that are becoming harder to manage. My father has always been there for others, and while he’s never once asked for help, I am reaching out on his behalf now.
