It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of George Dunan (age 52) . This memorial fund is setup in his memory to assist his family with his funeral expenses and their living expenses. George is survived by his wife, Gisela and 16 year old daughter, Nicole.

 

George was a hardworking family man, a devoted and loving husband and father who worked two jobs to provide for his family. In addition to his full time job as a sound engineer for Miami-Dade County, he worked as our beloved sound engineering expert for the past 8 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. There was no task he couldn’t do, including filling in as a drummer when needed at a weekend mass, running our video system, or setting up elaborate live streams for our rosary processions. He generously gave of his time above and beyond what his job entailed. He was always willing to serve and help. You could call George at any time of the day or the night needing assistance, and his answer was always, “I’ll be right over.”

 

And he didn’t limit his assistance to just Our Lady of Lourdes Church; he often helped out at Holy Rosary-St. Richard’s Parish when they had special events and emergencies. He used his talents to help out of love for what he did and as a service to help other people.

 

He always had a smile on his face and a story or a joke to be told. He touched our lives with his joyful and generous personality.

 

His family was his life. He was deeply devoted to his wife, Gisela, and his daughter, Nicole, was his “princess” and light of his life.

 

George tragically and unexpectedly passed due to Covid after being hospitalized for 2 weeks. His family is devastated and is still coming to terms with what happened. We are setting up this fund on behalf of his family for George’s funeral expenses and their living expenses, so Gisela and Nicole don't have to worry about financial concerns at the moment, and can focus on healing and getting through this together with their family and friends.

Con gran pesar anunciamos el trágico fallecimiento de George Dunan (52 años de edad). Hemos iniciado este fondo conmemorativo en su memoria para ayudar a su familia con los gastos de su funeral y sus gastos de subsistencia. A George le sobreviven su esposa, Gisela y su hija de 16 años, Nicole.

 

George era un hombre trabajador y de familia, un esposo y padre devoto y amoroso que tenía dos trabajos para mantener a su familia. Además de su trabajo de tiempo completo como ingeniero de sonido para el condado de Miami-Dade, trabajó como nuestro querido experto en ingeniería de sonido durante los últimos 8 años en nuestra parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes. No había ninguna tarea que no pudiera hacer, incluyendo ocupar el puesto de baterista cuando era necesario en una misa de fin de semana, ejecutar nuestro sistema de video, y configurar elaboradas transmisiones en vivo para nuestras procesiones del rosario. Él dio generosamente de su tiempo más allá de lo que implicaba su trabajo. Siempre estaba dispuesto a servir y ayudar. Podrías llamar a George en cualquier momento del día o de la noche necesitando ayuda, y su respuesta siempre era: "Voy enseguida".

 

Y no limitó su asistencia solo a la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes; a menudo ayudaba en la parroquia de Holy Rosary-St. Richard cuando tenían eventos especiales o emergencias. Siempre usó sus talentos para ayudar, por amor a lo que hacía y como un servicio para ayudar a los demás.

 

Siempre tenía una sonrisa en su rostro y una historia o una broma que contar. Él tocó nuestras vidas con su personalidad alegre y generosa.

 

Su familia era su vida. Estaba profundamente dedicado a su esposa, Gisela, y su hija, Nicole, era su "princesa" y la luz de su vida.

 

George falleció trágicamente e inesperadamente debido a Covid después de ser hospitalizado durante 2 semanas. Su familia está devastada y todavía está tratando de aceptar lo que ha sucedido. Estamos creando este fondo en nombre de su familia para los gastos funerales de George y sus gastos de manutención, para que Gisela y Nicole no tengan que lidiar con preocupaciones financieras en este momento, y puedan concentrarse en sanar y superar esto junto con su familia y amigos.
