Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
Our lives were turned upside down on May 16th when my son, Geoffrey Thompson, was involved in a catastrophic, head-on car accident at highway speeds. He survived the initial impact but went into cardiac arrest at the hospital, requiring immediate, life-saving surgeries to repair his chest and abdomen.
By the absolute grace of God, Geoffrey is a fighter. We have already witnessed incredible miracles in the ICU—his abdomen has been successfully closed, and he has shown us his brain is functioning by waking up, nodding, and squeezing his wife Megan's hand.
Right now, Geoffrey is fighting an hour-by-hour battle to heal. He is currently on a ventilator and dialysis while his lungs and kidneys work to recover. He is also preparing for what we hope will be his 8th and final major surgery to repair severe fractures in his leg.
While Geoffrey focuses 100% of his energy on fighting for his physical recovery, and his wife Megan focuses entirely on being by his bedside and providing for and protecting their four-year-old son, the reality of the long road ahead is setting in.
Geoffrey faces a lengthy stay in the ICU, followed by extensive inpatient physical rehabilitation to rebuild his strength and mobility.
I am creating this page on behalf of Geoffrey, Megan, and Rayland to help ease the massive financial burden that comes with a medical crisis of this scale. Megan is carrying so much right now, and our goal as a family is to take the financial stress completely off her shoulders so she can focus on stabilizing their son and navigating the next steps.
How Your Support Will Help:
Medical Expenses:
Assisting with the mounting bills from his intensive ICU care, multiple surgeries, dialysis, and specialized medical equipment.
Rehabilitation & Adaptive Care:
Funding the extensive physical and occupational therapy Geoffrey will need to regain his health and rebuild his strength.
Daily Living and Family Support:
Helping to cover basic household bills, travel to and from the hospital, and care for their young son during this critical time.
First and foremost, we ask for your continued, specific prayers—for the perfect balance of his pain medications, for his blood pressure to stabilize, and for his kidneys to wake up.
