Support for Gene Perez and Family

The Fillmore Raiders family has created this acct. in support of Gene Perez and The Perez family. Gene is a busy dedicated husband, proud father of 3 boys, Business Owner, Selfless Community Volunteer, Freind and to us he is the backbone of our Fillmore Raider family.

Many of you know him as a volunteer throughout the community of Fillmore for his work with our youth in various sports, but known primarily as our Fillmore Raiders Youth Football and Cheer President.

Last week Gene had some unexplained onset bruising which lead to seeing their family doctor on Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning was advised to go to the hospital For a very low platelet count. At the hospital, they did more blood work and found all his blood counts were low. He was given a platelet transfusion and transferred to VCMC. Thursday morning he had a bone marrow biopsy and Friday received a diagnosis Acute Promyelocytic LEUKEMIA (APL). Gene was immediately transported to City of Hope hospital and has begun treatment.

Gene is a motivated and driven individual that has never quit when he has a goal to obtain, and for that we have confidence in his recovery. His countless hours and efforts to help others without expectation of self gain has made him what so many of us respect and admire.

His wife Corrina who is one in the same generous and genuine souls, needs to spend every minute she can focusing on him and their family. Expenses will accumulate and need to be the last stress factor added on them.
