Gary turned 52 on September 11. Just eight days later, he suffered a heart attack and was flown by Flight for Life to another hospital, where he received a stent. He was sent home without restrictions.

On October 10, Gary began coughing up blood. Doctors discovered stage 3 lung cancer — which we later learned had appeared on the original scan but was missed. He spent weeks in the hospital fighting hard through chemo, radiation, and breathing treatments.

On November 7, doctors told us his body couldn’t handle any more treatment. We made the painful choice to bring him home on hospice, where he passed away peacefully the next day, surrounded by family and love.

We’re asking for help to cover medical costs and to hire an attorney to guide us on possible next steps regarding his missed diagnosis. Any amount helps and means the world to our family. He leaves 3 grandkids behind ages 14, 11 and 1
