Because I know my mom is not one to ask for help, the least I can do is try to make sure that my Uncle Mikey receives the best care while being laid to rest.
Gary Michael Boozer Jr. was born on August 6th, 1978 to Gary Michael Boozer Sr. and Rosamond Kaye Boozer in Oklahoma City, OK. He grew up performing Martial Arts with his father, mother and older sister, Tammy Jane Boozer. He unfortunately took his last breath on April 14th, 2025.
Gary Michael Boozer Jr. is preceded in death by Gary Michael Boozer Sr. and Rosamond Kaye Boozer. He is survived by his sister, Tammy Jane, his niece, Darian Kaye, his son, Gary Sebastion and his daughter, Makayla Rose.
He was a son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend to many, but the title that gave him the most pride was father.
He was a protector with a fiercely servant heart who fearlessly loved the Lord and served as the Director of Security at First Moore Baptist Church in Moore, OK where I believe it is safe to say that he touched hundreds upon hundred of lives.
This loss is unexpected and as we navigate through the feelings of immeasurable grief, I feel it is necessary to share a little about my last conversation with my Uncle Mikey. We both have been experiencing uncharted territory recently with not being able to accurately put a name on the emotions we were feeling and understanding why… He always had a way to remind you of exactly who you are even if he himself was having a harder day, but towards the end of the FaceTime call I reminded him of my favorite verse that he had once shared with me and the peace of being able to recite and apply that right back to him with the visible ease I was able to provide him, even if it was just for a short second, will be something that I will be eternally grateful for.
Proud would be an understatement and amazed seems too small of a word to explain what he has built within his church and community. The only term that could even come close would have to be that The Booze was legendary.
Feel free to share any stories or memories that you may have of Mr. Mike and please do not feel as if you are inclined to donate to his afterlife care. Anything would be appreciated that could help with his arrangements and I urge you all to go out and Be Like Mike in the days to come. Be a blessing. Have a servant’s heart. Spread kindness. Protect those you love and fully embrace the Word of God and love Him endlessly.
As I shared with him, I will share with you.
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord… Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
