In December 2025, tragedy struck our family when my brother Gary Crane Sr.'s house exploded. The blast took Gary Sr.'s life and left his son, Gary Jr., fighting for survival in the burn unit at Maine Medical Center. Gary Jr. suffered burns over 80% of his body and faces a long, difficult recovery. He had only just returned to the United States from Germany in September 2025, hoping to start a new chapter, but now he has lost everything he owned in the explosion and fire.
Gary Jr.'s mother and sister both live in Germany, and I am supporting him from Long Island, NY. With no job yet and no possessions left, Gary Jr. is facing unimaginable challenges. The house and property still have a mortgage that needs to be paid, and there are mounting medical bills and daily living expenses. To make matters even more difficult, my brother did not have a will, so his estate must go through probate in Maine, adding legal and financial stress to an already overwhelming situation.
We are asking for your help to support Gary Jr. as he recovers and rebuilds his life. Your donation will help cover his medical care, living expenses, and the mortgage, and will also help bring his mother to Portland, ME so she can be by his side during his recovery. Any support you can offer means the world to our family as we navigate this heartbreaking time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
