On February 13, my dad, Gary Garret Sr., passed away unexpectedly after a brief but difficult fight. For two and a half weeks, we didn’t know he was battling stage 4 brain and lung cancer. His passing has left our family heartbroken and facing many challenges we never expected to face so soon.
Gary was a proud Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put his family first. He was also an amazing brother, uncle, friend, baseball coach, and a mentor for everyone around him. He prided himself on being a grandpa and was deeply loved by all who knew him. Gary went out of his way to make everyone happy and to support his community. Despite his service, the VA has not been able to help us with the costs we are now facing, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
This fundraiser is especially for his beloved wife, Patricia Garret. Gary and Patricia were together for 55 years—a love like no other and an inspiration to everyone who knew them. As Patricia faces this loss and the challenges ahead, we are hoping to ease her burden with your support.
We are seeking help to cover funeral expenses, hospital bills, and other related needs. The funeral is on the 5th, and any support—whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser—would mean so much to us. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.
