In Loving Memory of Gale — Help Us Through an Unexpected Goodbye

With broken hearts, we share the sudden loss of Gale, our beautiful boy who was taken from us far too soon at just 5 years old.

Gale was rehomed to our cousin-in-law, and from the moment he arrived, he was deeply loved. He didn’t just have a home — he had a family. He was spoiled, cherished, and surrounded by warmth and care every single day. Losing him has left an emptiness that words can’t fully describe.

His passing was sudden and devastating. Gale became critically ill and was rushed to emergency care, where specialists discovered he was suffering from a suspected condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) — an extremely rare and often silent heart disease in cats. This condition affects the heart’s electrical system and can strike without warning, even in young, healthy, and well-cared-for animals.

Despite immediate emergency treatment and the tireless efforts of the veterinary team, Gale’s heart rhythm became dangerously unstable. Medications were given in hopes of stabilizing him, but his condition continued to decline. Watching him fight was heartbreaking. In the end, we made the most loving decision we could — to let Gale go peacefully, surrounded by family, free from fear and suffering.

This was not something that could have been prevented. ARVC is often congenital or genetic and gives little to no warning. Gale was loved deeply, and everything possible was done to save him.

We are sharing this GoFundMe not only to honor Gale, but to help ease the financial burden of the emergency and specialty veterinary care that came with trying to save his life. The bills remain, even though he is gone, and the emotional weight of this loss is already so heavy.
