Support for Funeral & Family of Carol
Donation protected
On the morning of May 24th, 2025, at 8:15 a.m., our beloved Carol passed away.
She was the heart of our family—born on February 21st, 1950, a mother of eight, a grandmother and great-grandmother to many, and a lifelong caregiver. From a young age, Carol took care of her siblings and eventually her children. When her son became a quadriplegic after a motorcycle accident, she dedicated her life to his care while working full-time and showing unwavering love to her growing family.
In her later years, as her health declined, her daughter Shannon stepped up to care for both Carol and her brother. Sadly, Shannon lost her brother in January 2025, and now, just a few months later, she has lost her mother as well.
This loss is not only deeply emotional but also financially devastating.
Shannon—who is disabled herself and unable to walk due to an ongoing infection—has lost the small income she received for providing full-time care. She now lives in a full household with her eldest daughter, three grandchildren, and her daughter’s fiancé. Their collective income simply isn’t enough to sustain them through this moment of crisis.
Carol had no savings or will, and our extended family is unable to cover the funeral costs alone. Most of our aunts and uncles are working hard to support their children and households.
We are hoping to raise $15,000 to help us get through:
- $10,000 for funeral and burial expenses
- $5,000 for essential living and medical expenses for Shannon, who is facing upcoming surgeries and recovery time without the means to support herself.
Carol gave everything she had—her time, her love, her energy—to care for others. In this difficult moment, we ask for help in giving her the care and dignity she deserves in her final goodbye, and in supporting the daughter who stood by her side until the very end.
Any amount helps, and we thank you for your generosity and support.
Please share if you’re able.
With love and gratitude,
Carol’s Family
