My name is Matthew Jackson, and I recently lost my dad, Danny Christopher Jackson, in a tragic wingsuit accident. He was not only my father but my hero, mentor, and best friend.
My dad lived an incredible life of courage and service. He dropped out of high school, but instead of giving up, he joined the U.S. Army and fought his way forward with determination. He became an Airborne Infantry Sergeant with the 1-87 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, and deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. He was wounded in action during both tours—and was awarded the Purple Heart, and multiple campaign medals. My dad showed me what true grit and sacrifice look like.
After leaving the Army, he didn’t slow down. He became a commercial diver, traveling the world on submarine rescue missions with Phoenix Diving Corp., and later worked with the U.S. Navy as a civilian diver. Eventually, he rose to become a program lead for Naval Special Warfare’s newest SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) program. At the same time, he was working toward his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering—proof that he never stopped pushing himself.
My dad also had a deep love for flight and adventure. He became an experienced wingsuit pilot, pushing boundaries with the same intensity he brought to everything in life. It was during one of these flights that we lost him, far too soon.
Now it’s just me. I want to hold on to his legacy—the medals, the gear, the belongings that tell the story of who my dad was. But without help, I may have to sell these memories to cover expenses. That’s why I’m asking for your support. Every donation will go toward keeping my dad’s memory alive and ensuring I can hold on to the things that represent his incredible life.
Thank you for helping me honor my dad, Danny Christopher Jackson—a soldier, a diver, a skydiver, a base jumper, a wingsuit pilot, and most importantly, a father.
