Francis Skillman—affectionately known as Skilly, Frank, and Buddy, has always been a beacon of creativity. Through his visionary work in music, photography, drawing, and abstract painting, he has inspired and uplifted everyone fortunate enough to know him. Frank’s unique perspective and generous spirit have left a lasting mark on his friends, family, and the wider SF community. As his friends, we have seen how his art and warmth have brought people together and made the world a brighter place.
Now, Frank is facing the final chapter of his life at Coming Home Hospice in San Francisco. Despite his many gifts, life has not been financially kind to him. He lives alone, and the costs of hospice care, cremation, transporting his ashes to his beloved sister Eileen in Philadelphia, obtaining death certificates, and cleaning out his apartment are overwhelming. These expenses are simply too much for his friends and family to bear alone, especially as we navigate the emotional challenges of saying goodbye.
We are reaching out to our community to help honor Frank’s legacy and ensure his final wishes are fulfilled with dignity and love. Your support will ease the financial burden on those who care for him and allow us to focus on celebrating his remarkable life. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity during these difficult times. Your kindness will help us give Frank the farewell he deserves.
