On March 31st, my cousin Francisco was riding his motorcycle down a main street in Murray, Utah. Tragically, he was hit by an oncoming car; despite the measures taken by first responders, Francisco passed away on the scene where he was hit. Francisco was the sole provider for his sister, Vanessa, and their father, Francisco Senior. Francisco’s mother, Claudia, lives in Mexico and we are working to secure a humanitarian visa for her to have the opportunity to be at his funeral and say a final goodbye to her son. As his family, we are left reeling from his tragic passing and working to make funeral arrangements so that we can put our beloved Francisco to rest.

Francisco would have turned 27 on May 18, 2026. Francisco was loved by everyone who met him; he was vibrant, full of life, and dreamed of bringing his mother to Utah, hoping to create a better life for him and his family. He worked hard to provide for his family and dreamed of one day opening his own restaurant to bring his hard work to fruition. Francisco loved playing soccer, had a passion for motorcycles, enjoyed being outdoors, and found immense joy in traveling with his sister. He took every opportunity that life had given him and made the absolute most of it. His death is a heartbreaking tragedy for our family, but Francisco will live on in our hearts and our memories as someone who loved deeply, meaningfully, and enjoyed everything life has to offer.
