Support for Forteau Family After Carmen's Passing
Donation protected
My name is Rhegan Hyypio Nuñez. Childhood friends of mine, Louis and Steve Forteau, recently lost their mom, Carmen Forteau, after she experienced complications post 2 surgeries. Steve had been her primary caregiver after her surgeries and took off work without pay to tend to his mom. Let’s help our dear friends by contributing to the expenses of the funeral, Steve’s lost wages and any outstanding medical bills. This is a family who holds a special place in my heart for many reasons.
They moved into their house across the street from my family when I was in elementary school. Steve and I became fast friends, as did his entire family and mine. We went to the same Catholic Church, Blessed Trinity. My first experience of death was the death of Steve and Louis’ father. I was very young. I remember going into the room where he was in bed dying. It was in order to prayerfully and peacefully say goodbye (or at least until we meet again in Heaven). It left a big impression on me—even to this day. Even though it was a hard and sad experience, the faith of the family, especially Carmen, stuck with me. Carmen was also one of the most hard-working people I knew. She became the primary earner as a nurse aide after her husband’s death – and with three boys to take care of (Louis and Steve had an older brother, Leon, who had epilepsy and died from complications several years ago).
Whatever way you can contribute, it will be greatly appreciated by Steve and Louis. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they move forward in their grief AND in honoring the life of their mom, Carmen Forteau.
Until we meet again in Heaven, Mrs. Forteau. Thank you for your witness. Carmen Forteau, Presente!
