On Friday, July 17, 2026, my dad, Tom, was involuntarily detained into a psychiatric hold after experiencing a manic episode. His erratic behavior forced my mom, Ruth, and sister, Cassie, to be displaced from my parent’s home, which my dad barricaded himself in. Not being in his right mind, he destroyed or damaged many of my mom and sister’s belongings and ransacked the rest of the house. His illness also resulted in him making many purchases and having little regard for money, which left my mom with virtually no way to continue to support them.

My mom is a retired nurse and my sister has one more year of college. They are unable to support themselves without my dad’s income. Donations would be used to help fund my mom and sister’s livelihoods, my parents’ mortgage, Cassie’s remaining year of college, legal fees (if necessary), and my dad’s eventual psychiatric care.

My dad is currently in the ER waiting for a bed at a long-term facility - those of which are currently full. Please keep him in your prayers during this time, as well as our family.
