I am Ichsan, currently living in Perth. The severe flooding has hit my hometown in Aceh Tamiang, Indonesia where I grew up.

Thousands of homes were swept away, not damaged, not flooded, but completely torn from the ground and carried away by violent currents.

Families are trapped with almost no supplies, more than 270 thousand people are stranded in shelters in Aceh Tamiang alone. I have more than 20 family members who are living there.

When I contacted my brother, he told me something heartbreaking:

“When the flood were rising, we were stranded in second floor of government building with no food and drink supply. We have not eaten anything for 24 hours and my little son asked for food and I only gave him flood water and sugar to survive, it's so heartbreaking”

This story inspires me for raising funds to support the community's recovery and to provide emergency supplies to all affected families.

My immediate priority is to help people survive in this crisis while access route are being prepared.

I am team up with good friends of mine who are located in Medan (3 hours drive away from Aceh Tamiang). We will go directly into the communities affected and make sure every donation goes exactly where it meant to go.
