My father, Pastor Paul of Community Church by the Sea, had just passed away on November 7th. While paying for the funeral and settling everything for my dad after his passing, a massive rainstorm hit the desert. This caused a massive river to form in my mom's backyard, which eventually flowed into the house through the doggy door. My mom was at dialysis, and thankfully I was there to discover the 3 inches of water that flooded the entire house. My parents had no life insurance and no flood or homeowners insurance, so unfortunately, this is all coming out of pocket. This is where you come in; my mom already has her hands full with my father’s funeral arrangements, she cannot afford to repair her house now too. We would appreciate anything you have to spare. We need to rip up the carpet, which covers more than half the house, before we are even able to assess the damage done to the walls. I will be posting more updates here. Edit:
We have started the process of moving everything out and ripping up the carpet. We rented a dumpster for the next 2 months to use to throw away all of the furniture and other items ruined by the flood. The next step after this is to assess the dry wall for mold so we know what we have to remove and replace.
