On Monday, March 9th, our family’s world changed in an instant. My cousin's son, Fito, was struck by a car while riding his electric bicycle with a friend. The accident left him with devastating injuries, including the loss of his left leg below the knee and multiple serious cranial fractures. In the hours that followed, our family faced the terrifying reality that he might not survive, and doctors warned us about the possibility of severe brain injury. By God’s grace, Fito has stabilized, and there is now hope that he will recover without permanent brain damage. While that gives us tremendous relief, the road ahead will be long and difficult.

Fito’s father, Jesus, is a devoted single dad raising three children. Since the accident, he has been at the hospital constantly, staying by his son’s side while unable to work. In the meantime, extended family members have stepped in to care for his two daughters as the family tries to navigate this crisis. The emotional and financial strain on them is overwhelming. Medical bills are already mounting, and the months ahead will bring many challenges—ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, prosthetics, and helping Fito adapt to life after such a life-altering injury.

We have created this fundraiser to help support Jesus and his children during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward medical expenses, lost income while Jesus remains with his son in the hospital, care for the girls, travel and hospital costs, and the long road of recovery ahead.
