Help Ease the Recovery Journey

Hi friends and family. Im starting this fundraiser to help me and my family with monthly bills, gas money, and other expenses in my recovery process. In March during spring break I went to the ER for what I thought was a hernia because of the pain on my side and stomach. It turned out to be a tumor on my left kidney. The ER doctor told me without telling me it was cancer. As you can imagine it was devastating. I was scared and cried for days but with the support of my family I realized the only thing I could do was fight. I was lucky enough to get medical insurance quickly, get an appointment with a primary care physician then an appointment with a urologist and schedule all the CT scans, blood work visits, and MRIs. It was confirmed I had a 7.5 inch tumor on my left kidney and diagnosed with kidney cancer also known as renal cell carcinoma. I also have small spots on my lung, gallbladder and adrenal gland. As you can imagine me and my family were devastated, scared but ready for plan of action. My urologist let us know he had to remove my left kidney, the tumor and adrenal gland. I was beyond scared, worried, and nervous, yet ready for what God had planned for me. I had surgery this past Wednesday, May 8th where my amazing doctor and his team removed the almost 5 pound tumor and adrenal gland with a very large cut from side to side because of its size. I spent 3 days in the hospital and came home on Saturday and recovering with the amazing support of my family and friends. I have not worked since February because of the pain I was feeling before my diagnosis. My recovery process will take 4-6 weeks and after that I will be doing immunotherapy for 6 weeks.
