Support for Family of Trey Sauls

"Trey" Leonard Coolidge Sauls, III, age 45, husband of Joan Houston, and father to Lailah, age 7, was murdered in the early morning hours on Sunday May 7, 2017.  Trey’s death has dealt an enormous emotional and financial blow to Trey’s family.  Joan is grieving for Trey, who was “her rock.”  Lailah “Lady Bug” is having a hard time coping with the fact that she will not see her father again.  In the months before his death, Trey had become a fixture at Lady Bug’s second grade class in the Manor ISD and often went to school to have lunch with her. Trey was also close to his stepchildren, Isiah and Denise, ages 13 and 9, who also live at home with Joan.  Trey was a great big teddy bear of a guy and did not have a mean bone in his body.  We will miss him greatly.

Joan was my adopt-a-school student when she was 10 years old and I have stayed close to Joan and her family for 30 years.  Joan’s life has not been easy but she and Trey were keeping things together.  Both have worked hard and Joan and Trey were very excited that Joan had recently started a new job.  Then, without warning, Trey’s untimely death has been devastating for Joan and her family.

It is going to be extremely hard for Joan to make ends meet without Trey’s contributions.  Joan is just starting to come to grips with all the things that Trey took care of for the family.  Joan will need money for food, utilities, clothes for the children, gas and the many other things that are day-to-day expenses of a family.  I hope that you will find it in your hearts to spare a few dollars to help Joan and her children get through this terrible life crisis.  Any amount that you can give will help.  Although Joan will be going back to work, providing necessities will be an uphill struggle withoutTrey.   Thanks to all of you who can help and God bless you.
