On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28, Melissa and Nick Bray’s daughter, Jackie, was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive on her bedroom floor. Melissa performed CPR until paramedics arrived, and a team of over 30 health care workers worked desperately to restart her heartbeat. What makes this all the more overwhelming is that Melissa herself underwent major brain tumor surgery just months ago and had been showing wonderful signs of recovery. This is beyond heartbreaking for our close-knit family — every memory we have is with each other, and family is everything to Jackie. Jackie is currently receiving round-the-clock care in the pediatric ICU at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and we are beyond broken to hear that at this point there is no chance for recovery. We are doing everything to soak up and cherish these final moments with our sweet girl, Jackie Bray. This fundraiser is to support the Bray family as they navigate this devastating situation, in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

UPDATE: As of 12:31 pm today (August 1), Jackie passed away. Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts for Melissa, Nick and family during this incredibly difficult time.

Honor Walk planned for Tuesday, August 4 at noon: Jackie is a hero. She will save other children’s lives through the precious gift of organ donation. An honor walk will happen on Tuesday, August 4 at noon at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis and family and friends are welcome to attend.
