This is a humble request at an incredibly difficult time for me. I lost my younger son, Ben, in a terrible car accident on December 12. It was his 18th birthday and the last day of high school before his graduation. Both Ben’s brother Noah and I have been shattered by this tragedy. I have had to take a leave of absence from my job to deal with all the logistics of Ben’s passing and to help Noah through the emotional trauma of losing his little brother.

I am a single mother and am head of my household. I do not receive financial support from my boys’ father. The leave of absence from my work that is necessary following Benny’s death will result in a significant income loss. I need help to pay for funeral expenses in excess of $11,000, to supplement the loss of income during my leave, and to continue paying for the next 2.5 more years of Noah’s college costs.
