Hi All,
Not sure where to even begin, or what to share or what not to... it's been a crazy few weeks.
About two weeks ago, I went into a walk-in clinic since I was suffering from some abdominal pain on my left side. They did some blood draws and called me back two hours later, instructing me to go into the ER. In the ER, they rushed me back, started me on some meds, and told me I have leukemia (wasn't sure what kind at that point… but based on a bone marrow biopsy and other screenings taken later, things look to be pointing to CML) chronic myeloid leukemia. I am told I am very young to have this disease...
I have had quite a few appointments this past week with all sorts of folks to figure out what my treatments will be and look like.
I am trying to work as much as I can right now (since I am the sole income for my family of 7: Me, my wife, our 2 daughters, and 3 boys). I have been pushing myself quite hard, much more than I would like, but I can't afford not getting paid to support my family.
Overall, we are very optimistic for my future. I praise God I am not already dead, looking at what my CBC counts were… It is pretty astonishing to see what condition I was actually in…
