My dear friend’s husband was recently arrested by ICE and is facing imminent deportation to Mexico. He was born in Mexico, but his parents brought him to the USA when he was only one year old. So, he has been here, in Colorado, for 31 of his 32 years. This sudden and traumatic separation has devastated their family emotionally, legally, and financially.

In the midst of this crisis, they were also defrauded by an unscrupulous immigration lawyer who took an obscene fee and provided no legitimate help. No filings. No defense. No accountability. Just silence and betrayal.

This fundraiser is to help them recover what was stolen—to reclaim the funds that were meant to protect their family and to give them a fighting chance to rebuild. Rather than two incomes, my friend is just down to hers and has a 9-year-old son to raise.

They are navigating this nightmare with courage and grace, but they cannot do it alone. Every dollar will go directly toward:

- Legal support and restitution efforts

- Emergency family expenses during this separation

- Rebuilding trust and stability in the wake of injustice
