On Halloween night, my friend and her husband, came to my home with their two kids so our families could go trick-or-treating together. It was supposed to be a fun night, which had been planned for weeks.

After we got back from taking the kids trick or treating, Daryl walked to a nearby 7-Eleven to grab snacks. Unfortunately, on the way back he was attacked and stabbed 17–20 times. Thankfully a witness was there and called 911 and he was rushed to the hospital. He went into immediate surgery, and was put into an induced coma, and has been in the induced coma since then. It has been over two weeks, and he is still fighting for his life.

The man who did this has been caught and is being charged with attempted homicide, but the emotional and financial aftermath has impacted his wife and kids. With Daryl unable to work, the family is facing overwhelming expenses, from everyday needs to growing medical bills.
