Support for Family After Detainment: 6 Kids & Pregnant Mom

Donation protected
Story:
On Thursday morning, two fathers from families living together, and that had recently moved from Encinitas to San Marcos, were abducted on their way to work. It happened the same day the oldest child even received Student of the Year at his elementary school graduation in Encinitas. The fathers are the household breadwinners; their sudden disappearance has left two sisters living together with six children (ages 4–11) in shock and desperate need.

One of the moms, whom I met through my work with a grassroots community group helping our most vulnerable neighbors, is pregnant and was due Friday the 12th — she needs immediate support for herself and the newborn. Between medical needs, baby supplies, food, housing, utilities, and basic daily care for six young kids, this household is facing an unimaginable crisis.

What your donation will do:
  • Provide urgent baby and postpartum supplies (diapers, formula, clothing, breastfeeding/pumping supplies, hospital co-pays)
  • Cover immediate household essentials: groceries, toiletries, diapers for older children
  • Pay rent, utilities, and transportation while the family copes with lost income
  • Fund counseling, legal fees, and any immediate medical or childcare needs

Why this matters:
This family’s lives were changed in an instant. The children need security, stability, and basic care right now. The pregnant mom needs safe, reliable access to medical care and everything a newborn requires. Your contribution will directly support their survival and recovery during this crisis.

How you can help:
Donate what you can right now — every dollar helps:
$10 — One week of diapers (size newborn–3)
$15 — Pack of baby wipes and toiletries for a child
$25 — Baby clothing outfit + socks (newborn–6 months)
$35 — Pack of formula cans or starter formula supply
$50 — Two weeks of formula or specialty nursing supplies (breast pump parts, storage)
$75 — Emergency grocery box for a family of 6 (staples for several days)
$100 — Gas/transportation support for appointments and errands + phone minutes
$150 — Newborn hospital co-pay or essential medical supplies (thermometer, bulb suction)
$250 — One month of utilities (electricity, water) assistance
$500 — One month of groceries for the household
$600 — Childcare support (helps parents attend appointments)
$1,000 — Partial rent support to keep the household stable for a month
$2,500 — Comprehensive newborn + postpartum kit (delivery needs, nursing supplies, newborn essentials)
$5,000 — One month of combined rent, utilities, food, and childcare to provide immediate stability
If you prefer, combine donations to fund specific bundles (e.g., $1500 = 1 month groceries + partial rent + newborn kit).

Updates and transparency:
All funds will be used exclusively for the family’s immediate needs. Regular updates will be posted on this page so you can see the impact of your support. As the family does not have the means to receive direct disbursements of the funds, I have permission from both mothers (V.V. and M.V.) to transfer all funds to me. . I will distribute all funds to the family immediately upon receipt.

Thank you:
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support during this devastating time. Please help us give these kids and their mothers the security and care they urgently need and deserve.

Please donate and share.
