Support for Families After the Apartment Fire

Donation protected
On the night of March 18th, a local apartment fire deeply impacted several families in our community. After taking time to process and begin putting the pieces together, they are now ready to accept support—and I’m hoping we can come together as a community to help in any way we can.

**Apartment #1**
This family is an elderly widow who is wheelchair-bound and living on a very limited, fixed income. She spent her life living to the fullest, taking care of her late husband, and continues to live with quiet strength, humility, pride, and independence. She has always been incredibly intentional about how she lives—making her own lotions for over 25 years, preparing her meals from scratch, and doing her best to care for her health in simple, natural ways. She lost everything in the fire, and in your 80s and living in a fixed income, its hard to start over. While clothing has been generously donated, she is now in need of basic household items, pantry essentials (she has spent years building a cooks kitchen with spices and quality ingredients and is stressed that she won't be able to rebuild) , and would deeply appreciate the opportunity to choose her own personal and intimate items with dignity.

**Apartment #2**
This family is a devoted single mother who spends her days caring for others in a memory care unit, and then comes home to continue caring for her adult daughter who lives with the lasting effects of a traumatic brain injury. Her life is one of constant giving, patience, and love. While their home was not completely lost, the damage from smoke, fire, and water has taken so much from them. Her daughter now needs new clothing, especially items that are easy to put on and take off to support her independence, as well as bedding (their mattresses were thankfully saved). Most household and personal care items will also need to be replaced. They have received a few larger items already, but still have many daily essentials to rebuild. Her daughter finds joy in dolphins, music boxes, and ICE drinks, small comforts that mean so much during difficult times.

**Apartment #3**
There was a third family impacted as well. I have not yet been able to connect with them, but my hope is they are being supported. If you know who they are and they could use additional help, please reach out so they can be included.
