Support for Everly and her Family

Hello, we are fundraising for Everly (7) and her family, the Heidingers: Devin and Diana (parents), and her brothers and sister, Ronin (12), Zachary (10) and Matilda (9).

In the summer of 2023, Everly's parents noticed a lump growing by her eye. After many doctors and specialist visits, in October they found out it was a cancerous tumour. After several painful tests, the doctors are fairly certain the tumor is just localized to the lump by her eye. However, because of the location, they cannot operate to remove it.

Everly is in the midst of 24 weeks of chemotherapy and will have radiation therapy as well. Everly and Diana travel out of town to Vancouver to Children's Hospital for her chemotherapy treatments and follow-ups. She is also scheduled to have specialty Proton radiation in Seattle, and they will need to stay there for the month while she is in treatment.

Medical costs have been covered so far, but even prior to the diagnosis, with the cost of living in the lower mainland and a large family, expenses are high. They don’t live extravagantly, and Devin and Diana are doing what they can to be frugal. But now due to Everly's diagnosis, Diana has needed to take a leave of absence from her work. She has applied for EI, but the process is slow and only covers a portion of her lost income. Traveling to and from hospital, with occasional unexpected extended stays, means that Devin is often taking care of their 3 other children and their home-stay student. All while working full-time and wishing he could be with Everly supporting her as well.

We've set up this fundraiser to help cover the costs associated with traveling for treatment, both to Vancouver for now and Seattle in the future, as well as to cover all the extra expenses during this time. For those of you who know Everly, you will know her sweet and sunny disposition. We are praying that soon this will all be a distant memory and she will be back to enjoying life to the fullest!
