Evelyn is a bright and brave 3-year-old, the daughter of my cousin Kory and his wife, Beth. As their first child, she is a cherished daughter, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. Her sweet smiles and joyful spirit spread happiness and light to everyone. Their family is facing an unexpected battle as Evelyn fights neuroblastoma. We are praying for strength, healing, and support to surround them during this difficult journey, helping them stay by Evelyn’s side every step of the way.
On April 14th, Evelyn was diagnosed with a tumor around her spine following several weeks of unexplained symptoms. The tumor was identified as a type of cancer called neuroblastoma. She began chemotherapy immediately and her symptoms initially appeared to improve. On May 2nd, Evelyn faced a setback. It was discovered that the tumor had bled into itself and began to swell, causing compression of her spinal cord. Emergency surgery was required to remove part of the tumor and relieve the compression. Evelyn is currently hospitalized at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, where she is recovering from surgery, continuing to receive treatment for her cancer, and undergoing intensive rehab to recover from her spinal cord compression.
This journey has been unexpected and challenging for Evelyn and her family. The support from this fundraiser will help ease some of the financial pressures of caring for their daughter while she is in the hospital, so Kory and Beth can spend their time and energy where it matters most—by Evelyn’s side.
We invite friends, family, and the community to help in any way they can—whether through donations, sharing Evelyn’s story, or offering prayers.
Your support and prayers mean so much to Evelyn and her family during this difficult time. Prayers are working, and we all trust that the Good Lord is with Evelyn every step of the way.
