My name is Karla, and I am the niece of Evelyn and Vince. I am reaching out today with a humble and heartfelt request for support during a very difficult time for our family. For 45 years, my uncle Vince has been more than just a husband—he has been a devoted partner, caregiver, provider, and best friend to my aunt Evelyn. Through her own health and mobility challenges, he has stood by her side with unwavering love, strength, and dedication. He has always been the one others could count on—never saying no, always willing to help, and bringing light and positivity to everyone he meets. He is truly the glue that holds our family together.
Now, my uncle Vince is facing one of the toughest battles of his life. He has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer and will soon undergo surgery, followed by possible radiation treatments. During this time, my aunt Evelyn wants nothing more than to care for him the way he has cared for her—but due to her own limitations, she cannot do it alone. As Vince begins treatment and recovery, they will need assistance with basic household tasks, errands, and transportation to medical appointments. Unfortunately, the financial burden of this added care is more than they can manage on their own. This is incredibly hard for our family to witness, but we are holding onto our faith in God and believing in strength, healing, and hope through this journey.
