My name is April Evans, and I’m reaching out for support for my husband, myself, and our family. On August 13th, our lives changed when my husband, a self-employed construction worker, suffered a serious accident at work. While I was on a work call, I received the news that he had fallen through a roof 8-10 feet up and broken his wrist. He was rushed to the hospital in Danville, where we learned he would need surgery. That was just the beginning of our challenges.
Shortly after the accident, our insurance company dropped us, refusing to cover the injury even though we had paid for coverage for years. Suddenly, we were left to pay for everything out of pocket. My husband needed surgery to place a plate, screws, and a rod in his wrist due to the severity of the break. He recently had a second surgery to remove the rod, and he still can’t work. I’ve become the sole provider for our family of six, but my income isn’t enough to cover our new house payment, medical bills, gas, food, and all the other expenses that keep coming in.
We’re doing our best to stay strong, but it’s been incredibly tough, especially with young children and the holidays approaching. Any help—whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing our story—would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read about our situation and for any support you can offer.
