Support for Tariq's Medical Needs and Family Evacuation

This fundraiser is an effort to support the evacuation of Ali, age 6, and Muhammad, age 9, alongside their father Tariq, and mother, Ghazala, from Gaza to Egypt. This will insure their safety as well as provide adequate medical care to Tariq whose needs are long-term.

The family's story begins with Jannat.

Jannat Tariq Zaheer Hammad was born on August 24th, 2020. She left this world on April 24th, 2024. The 201st day of the Genocide on Gaza.

Jannat's entire life was stolen from her from the moment she was born. A child born during the pandemic in occupied Palestine, Jannat was diagnosed with agenesis corpus callosum, a rare medical disorder. Like most families in Gaza, she and her family were displaced and she spent her final months of life living in a tent, until she was so malnourished and ill she had to be hospitalized. On March 27th, she was admitted with pneumonia and severe malnutrition. During her brief time in the ICU, her condition worsened, with internal bleeding and liver failure. She was finally evacuated on Saturday, April 20th from Gaza to Egypt.

Jannat's childhood was stolen from her. Had she been able to receive proper medical care, clean water, and adequate nutrition sooner she would have been able to not only live longer, but healthier and happier.

Jannat was evacuated with her mother, Ghazala. However, two days after Jannat's death, Ghazala was required to return to Gaza. The family lives like many others in Rafah, in a tent without adequate shelter, clean water, food, or medical care. Bombs are going off every day. No where is safe in Gaza.

Ali is only 6 years old. Muhammad is 9 years old.

Tariq was injured over three years ago and is confined to a wheel chair. He was hurt again in November 2023. And again in May 2024.
