Erna Ruth Ream passed away suddenly in the early morning of March 16, 2026. She had been the matriarch of the Ream household for more than 22 years, dedicating her life to raising five of her six children—Faith, Ellanah, Matthew, Brandon, Chenoa, and April. As the daughter of James "Jim" Lowery and Faith Seeber-Lowery, and the wife of Jeremy Ream, Erna was the heart of her family. Despite facing long-term medical illnesses and financial hardship, she always put her loved ones first, sacrificing her own needs and interests to ensure everyone else was safe and cared for. Her strength and compassion extended beyond her family, as she was a leader and advocate in her workplace, always ready to help others.
Erna struggled with severe COPD for many years, only receiving an official diagnosis in October 2025. Even then, she faced the challenge of affording medical care, medications, and basic necessities. Her family rallied to support her through hospitalizations and ongoing treatments, but the financial strain was constant. Erna often had to choose between food, utilities, and her health, yet she remained hopeful and looked forward to spending time with her family, especially during holidays and special occasions. She was an avid fan of Marilyn Monroe and photographer, and dreamed of enjoying the outdoors once warmer weather arrived. Tragically, she passed away just as she was looking forward to brighter days.
The loss of Erna has left her family not only grieving but also facing significant financial burdens. The funds raised will help cover funeral expenses, as well as essential costs like utilities, mortgage, and car payments. This support will allow the family to focus on healing and honoring Erna's memory, rather than being forced to work excessive overtime to make ends meet. Thank you all for being a part of Erna's life. She meant the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for any help you can provide during this difficult time.
