Dear DiDonato friends and family,

As many of you know, Erin and Dave’s difficult journey began in 2016 with her diagnosis of cancer - Stage 4 Glioblastoma. She’s since battled through two surgeries, traveled locally and to CA to receive intense treatments and fought countless battles both seen and unseen. She and Dave have leaned heavily on their faith and trusted in God for what only he can do and provide, while also benefitting from the tremendous strength provided through friends and family in the form of meals, prayer and financial assistance that has been both deeply needed and appreciated.

Unfortunately, in February of 2023 after a routine MRI, it showed a growth that revealed the cancer had returned. Erin underwent surgery March 1 to remove and treat what was evident, followed by more therapy and another round of chemotherapy and radiation. To say she is a warrior is a vast understatement!! Over the past 6 years the needs of their family have significantly increased and cancer treatments / healthcare expenses, as well as making lasting memories, have been the priority over other family needs. Erin has experienced difficulty with balance and mobility. As a result, it’s been determined that the best course of action is to make adjustments to their home to provide a safer and more comfortable environment conducive to Erin’s needs and greater support for Dave and their 3 kids, so they can better care for Erin in this season.

The blessing they’ve poured onto everyone around them over the years has, without a doubt, been an everlasting gift. They are humbly dependent on your fervent prayer, friendship and always grateful for help amidst their suffering. Please join with them in this new chapter, with a generous heart, to be a part of helping provide for their needs and reminding them every step of the way that they do not walk alone!

Thank you to everyone for your love and support for the DiDonato and Van Horne families. Erin passed peacefully into eternal peace on December 17, 2023. The family is so grateful for all the support through their long and difficult journey, as well as this new season that bears lasting heartache and challenge.
