It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our dear colleague and friend, Eriecka King (Hollingsworth), on July 15, 2025. Eriecka was more than just a valued team member—she was a bright light in our workplace. Known for her unwavering reliability, her deep sense of trustworthiness, and the joyful spirit she brought to every interaction, she left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to work alongside her. Whether taking on new tasks or lending a listening ear to a coworker, she did so with grace, kindness, and an infectious smile.
She was chair of the Perianesthesia Unit Practice Council, fill-in charge nurse, preceptor, and actively working to complete a Master's Degree in Nursing Leadership.
She was a dedicated professional, but even more so, a devoted mother to her son, Nick. Her love and pride for him were evident in every conversation, and our hearts ache for him and her family during this time of unimaginable loss.
We are committed to supporting Eriecka’s family in the days and weeks ahead. We are organizing a collection to help provide for her son and ease the financial burden of this tragic loss. If you are not in a financial position to donate, please share with those who are. These funds will help Eriecka’s family with travel and estate expenses as they work to settle her affairs, moving costs, funeral expenses, and any of the many other costs associated with Eriecka’s unexpected passing.
We will be honoring her life and legacy in a memorial service on August 6th at 5pm, where we can come together to share stories, offer support, and celebrate the incredible person she was.
Eriecka, your presence will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the lives you touched. Rest in peace.
