Hello, my name is Hailey. I’m fundraising for my friend Torie, her boyfriend Eric, and their teenage son and daughter.

Eric went into the hospital for what was supposed to be a minor routine procedure to break up kidney stones. He was perfectly fine going in, but when he came out of surgery everything changed. He had to be placed on oxygen immediately, and since then he has been hospitalized while doctors urgently try to figure out what went wrong.

A CT scan showed that his lungs appear cloudy, but the medical team still hasn’t been able to determine why. They aren’t sure yet if this was caused by the procedure or if something else is happening. On top of this, Eric has been coughing up blood, which has made everything even more frightening for him and his family.

This entire situation has taken a huge emotional and financial toll. Torie has been at the hospital almost every day while also trying to support their daughter and son, and with Eric unable to work, they’re struggling to keep up with basic expenses. They were already living paycheck to paycheck (as many Americans are right now), and this sudden medical emergency has pushed them into an incredibly difficult place.

I’m asking for any support—whether it’s a donation of any amount or simply sharing this fundraiser to help it reach more people. Truly, anything helps, and they are so grateful for all the love, prayers, and support during this scary and uncertain time.
