"With a heavy heart I share that my husband Erick has passed away. Erick is survived by our two sons Erick and Evan and I and our beagle puppy Kadie. My husband Erick was a retired Microbiology Tech II for a worldwide medical company. He was 61.5 yrs old, living with heart failure illness since 2012. He diligently rode his mountain bike for cardio. His physicians couldn't understand how active he was with a weak heart, including having a defibrillator device. In 2022 he was diagnosed with pulmonary issues; this was not an obstacle that would prevent him from continuing his daily cycling in Pasadena, our city we call home. From 2022 to recently Erick remained active, exercising daily. He was told by his cardiologist and pulmonary doctor that he required a combination of transplants (heart and double lungs). A referral was made for heart and lungs by Cedars Sinai to Stanford University in Northern California.

Unfortunately, Erick began having extreme sudden pulmonary decline rapidly and unexpectedly. We started seeing painfully that he was starting to lose life, and we were terrified of losing him. On Christmas Eve he went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital into the Critical Care Unit until January 8th, when he lost his battle to pulmonary illness. Erick never returned back home to us. We lost him and now begin a new year without him, grieving in disbelief that he's gone.

If there is a chance of it, any funds are welcome and would be utilized for bills related to his passing, outstanding medical bills and living expenses.
