Eric Stacy suffered a stroke four weeks ago, and after a long three-week wait for a hospital bed, he was finally admitted to Henry Ford hospital. Now, he faces open heart surgery due to a large blood clot in his brain and a leaking heart valve. The doctors have told us that his chances of surviving the surgery and the start of blood thinners are less than 40%. This has been an incredibly difficult and frightening time for our family, as we wait and hope for the best outcome for Eric Stacy.
We are trying to raise money to help cover the cost of staying with Eric Stacy at the hospital, which is three hours away from our home. It will be several days before we know if he will survive this ordeal. Being able to stay close to Eric Stacy during his recovery is so important—not only so someone can be there to make immediate decisions about his care if something goes wrong, but also to help him relax and let the healing process take place. Eric Stacy is very scared to be alone and terrified he will die alone. We want to make sure he can hear and feel us around him, especially as he will be in a medically induced coma for several days after surgery.
We appreciate every one of you—no amount is too small, and if you can’t donate, just sending all your prayers and healing thoughts is more than enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring and supporting our journey with Eric Stacy, helping him get through surgery and home with his family where he can continue to heal.
UPDATE!
Eric’s surgery has been moved to Monday afternoon. Thank you so much for all your love, prayers, healing vibes and support. We appreciate and love all of you. Eric is trying to stay positive, he wants to thank all of you as well.
