Support for Eric Schwartz (Lone Star Dead Radio)

Donation protected
For anyone who knows our brother, Eric Schwartz, you know that he is, and always has been, a devoted member of the Grateful Dead community.

Eric has hosted the Lone Star Dead Radio show in Dallas, Texas on KNON 89.3 FM, which he also produced for over 30 years. The show has been on the air every Friday since, and has been streaming globally since the 90s. Aside from sharing Grateful Dead music on the radio, Eric was equally passionate about featuring music from newer Grateful Dead musicians and up and coming self-published authors, poets and, poster artists on the show—always striving to give exposure and a platform to the “little guy.”

We’ve started this GoFundMe because Eric is going through some tough times and has some very serious medical conditions that have taken all of us by surprise. We are learning more and more every day, but right now we know that he has cancer in various places in his body, which has also impacted his bone health, and led to an unexpected hip replacement surgery. Long-term cancer treatment in the very near future is inevitable.

Eric has a long road of recovery ahead of him and his medical bills are sure to overwhelm his savings and health insurance. We know that his community is large, and we know that he’s given you all so much joy through the music and memorabilia and humor he has shared with you throughout the decades. Today we’re reaching out to his community to throw some joy his way with a small donation, a message of well wishes, or by sharing this GoFundMe with your community too.

Every dollar will go directly to Eric to help offset the cost of his future care.
Thank you,
