Dear Family and Friends of Eric Rice,

Many, if not all of you, are aware of Eric’s medical struggles during his young life. God gave him hands-down the best parents to fight for him for answers to his medical issues, and the joy he brings all who meet him is such a blessing.

Eric has needed platelets and blood more and more often, so with advice from their medical team, Karyn and Scott took Eric to U of M hospital on May 13, 2022. During this time, he has had critical platelet and blood count levels, numerous infections, fevers, pneumonia, internal bleeding and several surgeries. He has also suffered side effects from some of the new drugs they are trying and has a wound that continues to enlarge due to laying in bed.

Karyn and Scott have literally lived at the hospital these past 9 plus weeks. Karyn actually sleeps with Eric to ensure he doesn’t pull out any of his IVs and Scott stays at a hotel minutes away. Many of you have asked how to help. As you can imagine, the cost of these past nine weeks continues to increase and Eric is as always their main priority. Karyn and Scott want you to know how very much all your love and prayers mean to them.
