Support for Eric Lucas
Donation protected

On Saturday, June 6, a Shorewood woman spat in the face of 17-year-old Shorewood High School junior Eric Lucas. He was leading the call and response for thousands during a 7-mile North Shore Justice for George Floyd Peaceful Protest through the streets of Shorewood and Whitefish Bay in Milwaukee’s North Shore.
The community is disgusted that such a hateful action occurred and that it was directed toward a minor during a protest for racial justice and reform. Eric and his family harbor no hate, but request that justice be prompt and appropriate.
Many community members have asked for ways to support Eric and his family. As a family friend and Shorewood resident, I wanted to help. Organizing this fundraiser to support anti-racism efforts as well as Eric’s legal fees through this GoFundMe page will ensure that Eric and his family can continue to center their energy on maintaining the momentum of this movement.
HOW DONATED FUNDS WILL BE USED
10% of the donated funds will be given to community anti-racism organizations on the front lines of this movement.
The rest will pay for Eric's legal representation, which is an unfortunate but necessary result of the incident.
After the pending legal case is resolved, any remaining funds will be allocated as follows:
50% for Eric’s future education costs
15% for Eric’s transportation to/from Urban Underground, protests and community events
35% to support Eric and his family
Although Eric and his family are overwhelmingly grateful for the outpouring of support, they want the focus to remain on young black and brown voices that are leading our community toward change. Listen to their plea for racial justice and reform. Uplift their voices and help turn their ideas into actionable change.
Eric Lucas did not write the above content, but it was created on his behalf and with the consent of him and his family.
