Hi, my name is Zac Rubino. I’ve been living with epilepsy, and it has changed my life in ways I never expected. What most people don’t realize about epilepsy is that it doesn’t just affect the moments when a seizure happens. It affects every single part of your life, every single day.

There are times when I’m afraid to be alone or go to sleep, because I don’t know when a seizure might strike. I’ve woken up confused, bruised, and scared, not even sure what happened. I’ve lost the ability to drive, which means I rely on others just to get to my medical appointments, buy groceries, or handle basic daily needs. What used to be simple has now become a constant struggle.

Epilepsy has also affected my work and income. Some days, I physically can’t push through because my body and mind need to recover. And with bills piling up and medical expenses always around the corner, it feels overwhelming.

I’m creating this GoFundMe because I want to hold on to my independence as much as possible, but I can’t do it alone. The funds raised here will go toward:

• Medical bills and treatments related to epilepsy

• Transportation costs, since I can no longer drive

• Basic living expenses during the times I’m unable to work because of seizures

This isn’t easy for me to share, but I believe in the kindness of others. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it will make a huge difference in my life. And if you can’t give financially, sharing my story would mean the world to me.
