Support for Enrique and family

Dear friends, family, and members of the community,

My name is Imelda and together with my husband Jesus, we make a family of 5. We have our daughter America, our youngest son Jahir, and our oldest Enrique Humberto.

Currently we are going through a very serious, rather difficult and painful situation. For a parent, there is nothing worse than seeing our children suffering.

My oldest son, Enrique, is severely ill and in the hospital in a life-threatening condition that was caused due to intoxication. He is so very young at only 19 years old and for a long time has suffered with anxiety. Kike, as we all dearly refer to him, was found unconscious inside a car and it is not known how long he was like that prior to being found. My husband noticed he wasn’t home in the early hours of the morning and that is when he was discovered. He was taken via ambulance to JPS hospital in Fort Worth, TX, where they immediately put him in a medically induced coma and intubated him. He was then transferred to Baylor Medical Center where he could receive a higher level of care. The diagnosis has been absolutely devastating and the news continue to be dismal. The doctors say there is not much hope, they say his brain has turned off, and now only a miracle can save him.

The latest they have done is remove the breathing tube from his mouth and placed a tracheostomy (a small opening in his neck to his airway) so he can breathe through there. The doctors say, if he does wake up, he will never be the same young man he used to be because of the damage his brain has suffered and will never heal from. As his mom, I would give my life for him to be well, but we are trying to accept God’s will.

Hola amigos, familiares y miembros de la comunidad.

Mi nombre es Imelda y somos una familia de 5, mi esposo Jesus, mi hija América, el pequeño Jahir y mi primogénito Enrique Humberto.

En estos momentos estamos atravesando por una situación muy dificil, delicada y dolorosa. Para una madre no hay nada más difícil que ver los hijos sufriendo.

Mi hijo mayor Enrique se encuentra muy delicado en el hospital por una intoxicación, el tiene tan solo 19 añitos de edad, desde tiempo atrás el a sufrido de ansiedad.

Kike como todos le llamamos, se encontraba en el coche, no sabemos exactamente cuánto tiempo él estuvo ahí dentro, pero era de madrugada cuando mi esposo lo buscó en su cuarto y lo miró que estaba muy mal entonces la ambulancia lo trasladó al hospital John Peter Smith en Fort Worth TX, en el cual inmediatamente lo intervinieron induciendo a un coma para intuvarlo. De ahí lo trasladaron al hospital Baylor para una mejor atención. El diagnóstico a sido tan aterrador y lo sigue siendo, los doctores no me dan esperanzas, dicen que su cerebro está apagado y que solo un Milagro lo puede ayudar.

Recientemente an retirado el tubo que tenía en la boca por el cual recibía oxígeno y le an realizado una cirugía para sustituir por una tráquea. Los doctores dicen que si llega a despertar ya no será el mismo niño de antes, pues el daño en su cerebro estará dejando muchas secuelas graves. Yo como madre daría mi vida para que él esté bien. Pero tratamos de aceptar la voluntad de Dios.
