Emily and I have been best friends for six years, ever since we met at work. Even though we no longer work together, our bond has only grown stronger over time. Emily is the kind of person who lights up a room and is always there for others, especially her two children who mean the world to her.

Recently, Emily began a difficult journey after being diagnosed with cancer. The medical bills have started to pile up, and despite having insurance, there are still so many expenses that aren’t covered. Emily works at a low income job, and it’s been a struggle to keep up with both medical costs and everyday bills. Through it all, she remains focused on providing for her children and staying strong for them.

I am starting this fundraiser not because Emily wants to ask for help, but because she deserves the chance to focus on her health and her family without the constant worry of finances. We are grateful to finally have some answers about her condition, and every donation—no matter the size—will help ease the burden.
