On January 8th, my sister Emily and her husband Aurélio had to evacuate their home in Pasadena, California, due to the devastating fires ravaging Los Angeles. While they are grateful that their belongings and home remain intact, the reality is far from easy. Emily's severe asthma makes it impossible for them to return, as the air is thick with harmful levels of carbon monoxide, pollution, and smoke.

To add to their struggles, Aurélio's job has been severely affected, putting even more strain on their financial situation during this already challenging time.
