Support for Emergency Surgery & Recovery for Kim

On Monday, February 24th, my mother was rushed to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital via ambulance because she was in excruciating pain for over 2 hours. The ER administered her different medications, all of which did not touch her pain. After all of the different scans and tests, they determined that she needed an intense, emergency surgery. My Mom was on the verge of being septic. To make matters worse, her oxygen was depleted & her blood pressure was extremely low causing acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. She also had a case of pneumonia which caused respiratory heart failure. We almost lost her. She was in the hospital for almost a week and checked herself out, against medical advice, due to the extremely unsanitary conditions of the hospital. She’s had so many CT Scans, ultrasounds, X-rays, and treatments, along with this major, life altering surgery. My mother will also need another major surgery in about six months. She has a personal care aide coming to her home to help her and will soon need physical therapy once her body is ready. Being in the bar/restaurant business, she does not have paid time or sick leave. I wanted to start this GoFundMe to help my mom any way I can. If you are able to, any amount would be greatly appreciated. The medical bills will be mounting, along with her other regular bills. She is not on my step-father’s insurance because it is so outrageously expensive. He has been using his personal and vacation time to take care of her and that is almost up. She has a long road ahead of her, but we all know how stubborn my little chihuahua of a mother is! This time, she can’t be. She’s had many, many surgeries in the past and always pushed herself to return to work but I know that this time she physically cannot. Please keep my mom in your prayers.
