Support for Elyria Teen's Recovery

I would like to ask for donations for my family as we’re going through this difficult time with my son.He’s currently in the ICU. He was involved in an accidental shooting. ELYRIA, OH - On February 22, 2025, at approximately 3:37 PM, Elyria Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Melvyn Lane for a report of a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, officers made entry into the residence and located a 15-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Elyria Fire Department and LifeCare personnel responded and provided immediate medical care. The juvenile was transported to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center and later transferred to University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in serious condition.

Elyria Police detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings indicate the shooting appears to have been accidental.
